Psychotherapy lasts differently depending on your type of problem, how fast you make progress and other external factors as well. Both of you will determine if you have already finished your therapy and ready to end it. But you can still visit for periodic check ups or you want to give an update on how you have been in the past few months after your sessions have ended.
